Finca Sandoval Salia is a beautiful Spanish red blend from the old wine region of Manchuela in east-central Spain, just east of La Mancha. Finca Sandoval is a relatively new venture of well-known Spanish journalist Victor La Serna, with 26 acres of vineyards in the long-forgotten Manchuela appellation. This 2007 vintage bottling is a blend of Syrah and old-vines Grenache plantings brought in from Chateau Beaucastel to clay-limestone vineyards lying at an altitude of 2520 feet. It is a true red wine gem!
Finca Sandoval Salia is dense ruby-purple in color with a nose of cherry, blackberry, cassis, tobacco and spice. Bold on the palate with full body and velvety tannins, the wine offers flavors of dark berries, mocha, spice and toasted oak. It is beautifully balanced to enjoy now and over the next 5-6 years. The finish is long and full, with chewy tannins. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Enjoy Finca Sandoval Salia with roast leg of lamb, steak, paella and aged cheeses.
