Amador County, California
Mountain View Clockspring Vineyard Zinfandel is a fine value in Zinfandel from California’s acclaimed Amador County. Clockspring Vineyard is the largest planting of Zinfandel in the region, an outstanding 350-acre property nestled in the Sierra Foothills in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley in Amador County. The original plantings date back to 1973, and grower Frank Alviso employs both organic and dry farming techniques. The average elevation of the vineyard is 1600 feet, and it features rich, well drained, granite soils. Mountain View Vintners began its association with the vineyard in 1982 and released the first Clockspring Zinfandel with the 2003 vintage. Clockspring Vineyard is certified organic.
Mountain View Clockspring Vineyard Zinfandel is ruby red in color with an aroma of ripe berries, black plum and oak. Medium in body, this wine has soft tannins and rich flavors of black cherries, blackberries, black plums, vanilla and spice. Aged for 14 months in American oak barrels, the wine offers good balance and a smooth finish.
Enjoy Mountain View Clockspring Vineyard Zinfandel with your Thanksgiving turkey or with roast chicken, BBQ ribs, grilled vegetables and cheeses.
