Coastal Region, South Africa
Mulderbosch Rose is the perfect wine to usher in the warmer days of springtime. This wine gem is a beautiful rosé made of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from the Stellenbosch and Swartland regions of South Africa. The Mulderbosch winery dates back to 1692. Steve Tanzer has called this wine a "very sexy rose that should be perfect for the dinner table...a superb value."
"Containing mostly Stellenbosch fruit with some from Swartland, the 2016 Rose of Cabernet Sauvignon has a light red cherry and strawberry scented bouquet. The palate is well balanced with light peachy fruit, a little more viscous and richer than other South African Rosés that I encountered, but with a pleasing spicy edge on the finish. Mulderbosch is a winery that has been detailed in my previous reports, one that has been re-energized by the appointment of former Klein Constantia winemaker, Adam Mason."--Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, 86 points.
Mulderbosch Rosé is a brilliant strawberry-red in color with an aromatic nose of grapefruit, strawberries, guava, lavender and thyme. It is delightfully crisp and clean with medium body and flavors of dried berries and pomegranate. No oak. The finish is long, flavorful and refreshing.
Enjoy Mulderbosch Rosé now and over the next 3-4 years as the perfect patio aperitif wine. It will accompany Cobb salad, roast chicken, baked ham, grilled swordfish and mild cheeses.
