A to Z Oregon Pinot Gris is a delightful white wine from the Pacific Northwest. Founded in 2002, A to Z Wineworks is Oregon's fastest growing winery. Their business model is simple: to produce and market Oregon's best wine values by concentrating on their core competencies of acquisition, blending and marketing. We especially appreciate the company's slogan, "Aristocratic Wines at Democratic Prices!" This 2010 Pinot Gris was rated a Best Buy and given an 88-point score by Wine & Spirits. The 2010 Oregon Wine Awards judged it Double Gold, Best of the Best. Not bad for an everyday white wine gem!
The 2010 A to Z Pinot Gris leads with bright aromas of tropical fruits (lemon, lime, lychee, mango, passion fruit and kiwi) as well as melon, ginger, lemongrass and wet stone. Succulent and juicy on the attack, the mid-palate is drenched with peach, spiced pear, baked apple, quince, hibiscus, white flower and mineral flavors. Malolactic fermentation was intentionally blocked to retain freshness and purity of fruit. On the finish, the acidity wraps up the wine with a clean, fresh palate and lasting impression of a wine with great purity and typicity balanced by some richness and depth.
