Rhone, France
Domaine le Couroulu Vacqueyras is a gorgeous red wine gem from the village of Vacqueyras in the southern Rhone region of France, situated between Chateauneuf-du-Pape and Gigondas. Le Couroulu is a 40-acre estate owned by winegrower Guy Ricard that consistently produces top-notch wines. The name Couroulu is the provencal name of the bird depicted on the label. This Cuvee Classique is a rich red blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre. It received 90+ scores from all 3 of the top critics: Tanzer 91, Parker 90 and Wine Spectator 90.
Domaine le Couroulu Vacqueyras is deep ruby red in color with a gorgeous nose of blackberries, black cherries, cassis, olives, leather and dried herbs. Medium-full in body with a velvety texture and soft tannins, it is concentrated and rich on the palate and well balanced to enjoy over the next 7-8 years. This seductive red is long and spicy on the finish.
Enjoy Domaine le Couroulu Vacqueyras as an ideal accompaniment to lamb chops, skirt steak, daube provencal and grilled vegetables.
