Alto Adige, Italy
Andriano Lagrein Rosé is a beautiful dry rosé fro the Alto Adige region of Italy. Cantina Andriano was founded in 1893 and was the first cooperative in Alto
Adige. The vineyards are unique to the area because they are protected to
the west by Mount Gantkofel which is made of dolomite rock and calcareous
stone. In September 2008, Cantina Andriano was absorbed into the cooperative of Cantina Terlano, a move to unify these two cooperatives who are in the same small DOC of Terlano.
The Lagrein grapes selected for the rosé are pressed and the must is fermented at a low temperature in stainless steel tanks. There is no skin contact. The wine is left for 6 months on the fine lees creating a unique, intense yet transparent fuschia-red Lagrein color with an aromatic character much like a white wine. This style of Lagrein was historically the way people of this region liked their Lagrein wine instead of the more concentrated wine produced today.
Enjoy Andriano Lagrein Rosé as an aperitif wine or with grilled chicken, seafood and summer salads.
