Chateau La Braulterie de Peyraud Blaye Cotes de Bordeaux is a beautiful red wine gem from the excellent 2012 vintage in Bordeaux. The property is located in the heart of the appellation Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux on the right bank of the Gironde, and it has grown over the generations to an area of 38 hectares. Under Olivier David, it is still family-operated with Olivier in the vineyard, Marie-Helene in the winery and Sylvie in the tasting room. This wine is a traditional blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon from outstanding vineyards at the highest point in the appellation. Merlot gives the wine its roundness and fine tannins and Cabernet Sauvignon its fullness of body.
Chateau La Braulterie de Peyraud Blaye Cotes de Bordeaux is a rich, powerful wine with silky tannins and aromas of ripe fruits. It is dark ruby red in color with aromas of red berries, plum, spice and tobacco. Medium-full in body with moderate acidity, this Bordeaux offers rich flavors of plums, blackberries, cassis and spice. It was aged for 12 months in oak barrels, giving the wine a beautiful aromatic complexity. It is nicely balanced to be enjoyed now and over the next 5-6 years. The wine is smooth and long on the finish.
