VDP Cotes Catalanes, Roussillon, France
Domaine des Enfants L'Enfant Perdu is a gorgeous red from the Roussillon region of southern France. We tasted several Domaine des Enfants wines when co-owner Marcel Buhler visited our shop in 2015.
Wine Advocate 91-93 points!
"Tasted from barrel, the 2012 L'Enfant Perdu is a sensational-looking 2012 that has full-bodied richness and depth to go with lots of darker fruits, cassis, licorice and spice. Made from Grenache, Carignan, Syrah and Lladoner Pelut, it has a voluptuous, hedonistic style and should drink well for upward of a decade.
Located in Maury, Domaine des Enfants is run by the talented couple of Marcel Buhler and Carrie Sumner, with Marcel managing the vineyards and Carrie spending most of the time in the cellar. These are gorgeous wines that show the classic richness and texture of the region, yet back it up with fabulous purity of fruit, notable freshness and all-around balanced profiles. These are exciting wines that I'd happily drink any day."-Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, 91-93 points!
