Napa Valley, CA
James Suckling 96 points!
Eisele Vineyard Altagracia Cabernet Sauvignon from Araujo Estate is one of the finest Napa Cabs on the market, receiving high praise from James Suckling and Robert Parker:
"Lots of sweet-tobacco, currant and coffee character, yet this remains refined and subtle. Mushroom undertones. Medium to full body, ultra-fine tannins and a velvety texture. Complex and fascinating. Spanish cedar all the way. Better in 2019."--James Suckling, 96 points!
"The wines from the extremely hot drought year, 2014, were just bottled prior to my visit. The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Altagracia is suppressed in the aromatics, which is due to recent bottling, but exhibits a deep ruby/purple color, outstanding ripeness, elegance and loads of blackcurrant fruit intermixed with dusty/loamy soil scents and spice. Drink it over the next 12-15 years. Readers should note that the relatively new owners of what was formerly known as the Araujo Estate have finally changed the name to the Eisele Vineyard. This is one of the greatest terroirs in all of Napa Valley, if not all of California. It certainly makes sense to promote its name."-Robert M. Parker, Jr. 90 points.
