Wine Spectator 96 points!
Domaine Huet Vouvray Demi-Sec Haut-Lieu is a white wine gem from the Loire Valley of France made of 100% Chenin Blanc. Since its founding in 1928, Vouvray's Domaine Huët has been the standard-bearer for great, ageworthy Chenin Blanc. And to this day, year after year, the estate produces some of the world's most compelling white wines. Le Haut-Lieu is the estate's first vineyard, purchased in 1928. Its nine hectares have the richest soils and, generally, yields the most precocious wines. This is a beautiful example of the appellation and an ideal wine to enjoy with food, showing nice minerality and intense fruit. Wine Spectator has rated every vintage since 2007 at 90 points or above!
Rated 96 points by Wine Spectator: "This delivers a beautiful display of purity and grace, with creamed Jonagold apple, star fruit, white peach and chamomile notes flowing seamlessly, backed by wet stone and fresh verbena accents. Subtle but persistent energy ripples through the very long finish. Drink now through 2035. 2,000 cases made." -JM
