Castello della Paneretta Chianti Classico Riserva is a beautiful red wine gem from this famous appellation of Tuscany. The Paneretta castle is situated in the Chianti Classico area on the western slopes of the dominating hills of the Elsa valley, looking towards San Gimignano. It was built around an ancient sighting tower. With its 309 hectares, the Paneretta is one of the biggest farms of the area.
"Earth, iron, almond and bitter cherry aromas and flavors are the hallmarks of this balanced red. Firms up on the moderately long finish. Drink now through 2020. 3,000 cases made."-BS, Wine Spectator, 89 points!
"The 2014 Chianti Classico sees Sangiovese blended with smaller parts Canaiolo and Colorino for an authentic blend from the appellation. This is a fragrant and powerful expression with dark cherry aromas followed by spice and cured leather. The wine is informal and totally appropriate for simple grilled lamb or pork dishes. It ages in large Slavonian oak casks for 12 months. Castello della Paneretta delivers great value with this accessible red wine."-Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, 88 points!
