James Suckling 96 points! Wine Spectator 92 points!
Lazzeretti Brunello di Montalcino is a beautiful red wine gem from the heralded 2012 vintage. Marco was the first in the family to take over the winery created by his grandfather. During his military service, where he was forced to leave his beloved vineyards, his sister Lucia stepped in and today they both lead this young but well-grounded company forward! The winery's good luck symbol is an old key that was found in one of the new vineyards when it was being planted and the two siblings cherish it jealously!
"Forest-floor and dried-cherry aromas follow through to a medium to full body, decadent flavors and ripe and polished tannins. Great texture. Goes on for minutes. Excellent! Drink or hold." 2/17-James Suckling, 96 points!
Colour: garnet with tints of ruby Bouquet: rich and diverse aromas of ripe fruit, hints of liquorice, leather, earth and Mediterranean scrub Palate: the pleasant smoothness is contrasted by lively acidity, strong and fine tannins with a strong and very fruity finish.
Lazzeretti Brunello di Montalcino is perfect with local cuts of beef such as tagliata and fiorentina. With time, this wine will also pair well with game.
