Colli Bolognesi, Emilia Romagna, Italy
Il Monticino Bolognino Rosso is a beautiful red blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot from the Colli Bolgnesi appellation outside of Bologna. In 2000, the Morandi family restored the old vineyards and planted new DOC varietals on their hillside vineyards, re-establishing a centuries-old tradition. Their cellar is situated on the Zola Predosa hill and overlooks the vineyards and the beautiful landscape of Bologna. The winery covers 12 hectares.
Il Monticino Bolognino Rosso is ruby red in color and medium-full in body. Aged in stainless steel with no oak, the wine presents the natural beauty of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from this region of Italy. It is long and pleasing on the finish.
Enjoy Il Monticino Bolognino Rosso over the next 4-6 years with tagliatelle al ragu, pork chops with rosemary and thyme, grilled meats and aged cheeses.
