Thomas Goss Shiraz is a beautiful red wine gem from esteemed McLaren Vale wine region of Australia. One of the original McLaren Vale pioneers, Thomas Goss, his wife Mary and their children arrived in South Australia from Devonshire in 1849. After success in the Victorian gold fields he established an iconic farming property in McLaren Vale which is now home to some of the region's leading vineyards. This wine is a tribute to Thomas Goss's contribution to The Vale.
The Shiraz grapes used to make this wine have been sourced from select vineyards in McLaren Vale including those planted on the original Goss property. With dominant winter rainfall, warm, dry summers that are tempered by the proximity to the Gulf St. Vincent and low humidity, McLaren Vale has one of the most consistent climates in which to grow premium wine grapes, particularly Shiraz. The wine was made by Ben Riggs and his winemaking team. It has a long, soft and juicy palate and lush mouthfeel, bursting with blackberry, blueberry jam and licorice. This wine guarantees a true Australian Shiraz experience best enjoyed over the next 7 years.
"Shows good density to the bittersweet chocolate, hazelnut and blackberry pie flavors, with sink-your-teeth-into-them tannins that add richness to the complex blend of flavors. Clove, nutmeg and cumin aromas linger on the long finish. Drink now through 2028." 2,200 cases imported.
