K Vintners Art Den Hoed Viognier is a gorgeous white wine gem from the beautiful Yakima Valley of Washington State. Located at the base of the Blue Mountains in Walla Walla, Charles Smith opened his first winery, K Vintners, in December of 2001. The first release, 1999 K Syrah from Walla Walla Valley, initiated the style of winemaking that Charles continues today: small lots of single vineyard Syrahs and field blends of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Tempranillo, and Viognier, all of which are hand-picked, fermented with naturally occurring yeasts and basket pressed.
"A shimmering yellow/green hue. Super salivating aromas of Asian pear, nectarine, crushed stone that give way to apple blossom, honeysuckle and an electrifying spine of minerality, anchoring the full palate of deliciousness."-Charles Smith
"A beautiful wine that's very keenly priced, the 2016 Viognier Art DenHoed is very pretty, offering up notes of citrus blossom, musky peach and white cherries, with a subtle top note of leesy reduction. On the palate, it's elegantly glossy, pure and limpid, with juicy acids and a mouth-wateringly stony finish. Drink it over the next few years."-William Kelley, Wine Advocate, 92 points!
Enjoy K Vintners Art Den Hoed Viognier over the next 3-4 years with roasted chicken, baked swordfish, and grilled vegetables.
