Gascogne, France
San de Guilhem Blanc Sec is a delicious dry white blend from the Southwest of France made of 70% Colombard and 30% Sauvignon Blanc. These two varieties, estate-grown, beautifully complement each other - the Colombard brings a nice crisp freshness and the Sauvignon Blanc brings softness and richness to create an exceptionally intriguing wine at a very attractive price.
San de Guilhem Blanc Sec has a brilliant clear color with hints of yellow. The wine boasts an expressive, fruity nose with notes of citrus (pink grapefruit, lemon) and exotic fruits (lychee). Lively, airy on the palate with notes of exotic fruits. The freshness and complexity of this wine make it versatile - it can be enjoyed with all types of seafood dishes, enjoyed in the summer and winter - with food or on its own.
The vineyards have the typical oceanic influence of Gascony. Harvest is early September for the Sauvignon Blanc and early October for the later-ripening Colombard. No malolactic fermentation and no oak - this is to keep the wine's freshness.
