S de Sao del Coster is a wonderful introduction to the prestigious Priorat region of Spain. Saó del Coster works its lands in harmony, so as to express an elegant and honest vision of the Priorat through its wines. The plots Planassos and La Pujada are both located in the municipality of Gratallops, DOQ Priorat. The wines are elaborated with native varieties such as Grenache and Carignan, some of which can be over 60 years old.
"The Saó del Coster team works traditionally and follows a minimum intervention philosophy in terms of agriculture as well as winemaking, respects nature's cycles, uses biodynamic treatments in its lands and animal traction and the moon calendar for all of the work in the vineyards as well as the cellar. Our dedication is based on the desire to revive a way of working that is currently rarely used, and can create deep wines with great personalities that offer pleasure to whoever drinks them."
S de Sao del Coster is ruby red in color with a nose of berries, licorice and tobacco. It is soft on the palate with medium-full-body and fine, well integrated tannins, offering rich flavors of plum and blackberries. It is a blend of Garnacha and Carignan. The wine was fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks for 12 months. Unfiltered. It is well balanced with a long, lingering finish.
Enjoy S de Sao del Coster over the next 8-10 years with roast lamb, steak, grilled vegetables and aged cheeses.
