Pays d'Oc IGP, France
Domaine Fontarèche Viognier is a beautiful white wine gem of 100% Viognier from the Languedoc region of southern France. Fontarèche, which takes its name from the Latin phrase 'fonte erecto' (the gushing fountain), is one of the great historic wine estates of Languedoc. The inventories of the Archbishop of Narbonne mention vines at Fontarèche dating back to 1350. In 1682, Château Fontarèche and its wine estate passed to the Mignard family, whose descendants the Lamy family still own the estate today. Château Fontarèche is located in Languedoc a few kilometres from Lézignan-Corbières. The estate forms a perfect 200-hectare square around the buildings. It owns 160 hectares of classified vines, half under the Corbières DOP and half Vin de Pays.
Fontarèche Viognier is a subtle blend of white flowers and summer fruit in a bottle! Pale gold in color, it offers a bouquet of lychee and fresh apricot aromas with a delicate expression of white flowers. The wine is dry, full-bodied and richly flavorful with a refreshing finish.
Enjoy Fontarèche Viognier with roasted chicken, seared scallops, baked swordfish, and grilled vegetables.
