Humberto Canale Pinot Noir Gran Reserva is a beautiful red wine gem from the southern reaches of Argentina. The Canale Family vineyards in the Rio Negro Valley of Patagonia are among the most southerly in the world. A dry growing season with hot days and cold nights helps produce wonderfully ripe and generous fruit. The grapes were picked by hand in mid-April and delivered to the winery, just 1 km away. Careful selection with an extremely low yield of 8500 kgs per hectare assures maximum concentration of fruit.
Humberto Canale Pinot Noir Gran Reserva, elegant, delicate and complex, shows an attractive garnet color. On the nose, notes of spice and candied fruit accompany nuances of fresh red berries such as strawberries and cherries. Its ageing in oak contributes subtle notes of vanilla. In the mouth, its attack is sweet and complex, followed by the sensation of a light body and unctuous quality. The wine was aged for 12 months in American and French oak barrels. Well structured and complex, it offers beautiful balance, silky texture and a smooth, lingering finish.
Humberto Canale Pinot Noir Gran Reserva pairs beautifully with a juicy magret, grilled medium-rare, spare-ribs on the grill, full-flavored fish in rich sauces, and pastas.
