Chateau Vitallis Pouilly-Fuissé is a beautiful Burgundian Chardonnay from the famous appellation of Pouilly-Fuissé. Now almost two centuries old and situated in the heart of the picturesque village of Fuissé, Chateau Vitallis is one of the few major estates in the region. They cultivate 40 acres of high-quality vines across the appellations. The estate was founded by the Dutron family in 1835 and run by Denis Dutron since 1981. In the last few years their son Maxime has taken on a more substantial role in the wine making and business of the estate. The estate is known for its old vines, some of which are over 65 years old. The use of stainless steel vats assures a long cool fermentation and preservation of the fruit and aromas. Aging continues in new and old oak barrels but always with a light touch. His wines are regular medal winners in the many French competitions.
Chateau Vitallis Pouilly-Fuissé is medium-full in body, yellow-gold in color, crisp and clean with balanced acidity and just a hint of oak. It offers beautiful flavors of green apples with hints of honey, citrus and white stone fruit. It is long, clean and flavorful on the finish.
Enjoy Chateau Vitallis Pouilly-Fuissé over the next 3-4 years with roast chicken, grilled swordfish, lobster, Cobb salad and goat cheese.
