Wagner Vineyards Estate Winery is one of the oldest and most recognized wineries in the Finger Lakes Region of upstate New York. Centrally located on the eastern shore of Seneca Lake. Family Owned and operated, the 4th and 5th generation Wagners are in the vineyards on Seneca Lake and in the cellar to bring you the best quality Finger Lakes wine. Wagner Vineyards has been one of the region's most popular wine tasting destinations since opening in 1979. Wagner Vineyards has over 30 award winning wines ranging from bone dry to dessert wine sweet.
"The 2017 Semi-Dry Riesling comes in with 18 grams of residual sugar, 7.5 of total acidity and 12.5% alcohol. This is surprisingly dry for a semi-dry, the sugar readily controlled by the acidity. It has restraint and a cool and precise demeanor. The sugar hardly seems noticeable. This could easily still be a table wine. If you like them on the drier side but with enough sugar to balance the acidity, this is a fine example at another nice price. As prices tick up in the Finger Lakes-not that I've done an accurate survey, but it seems to be a trend-Wagner remains a steady source of fine values. The key there is "fine"-the wines are typically overachievers that punch above their weight. With some variation for years, the winery produces around 30,000 cases, meaning that many of the best values are readily available too."-Mark Squires, Wine Advocate, 89 points!
