Napa Valley, California
The Messenger Cabernet Sauvignon is a beautiful expression of Napa Valley at a very reasonable price. Almost 20 years ago, Kat McDonald and her Aussie husband Rob founded Old Bridge Cellars and began importing the legendary Australian wines they both loved. In 2008, they founded Art+Farm Wine in Napa. Art+Farm is home to their single-vineyard wines the girls in the vineyard, their outrageous blends-The Messenger and their true varietals, Circadia. The vineyards contributing to this wine were all harvested during October 2018 after a delightful summer with generous sunshine and cool, maritime influenced nights. These ideal ripening conditions produced grapes with intense flavor and great complexity.
The Messenger Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc, 2% Malbec and 1% Petit Verdot. It was aged in new medium-toast French oak. True to the heart and style of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine is rich and lush, with loads of delicious, dark fruit and a touch of French oak spice. The texture is smooth, round and feels fresh. This wine is a joy to drink while young, juicy and vibrant but will also develop lovely complex characters over the next decade in the bottle.
Enjoy The Messenger Cabernet Sauvignon with filet mignon, rack of lamb, steak, grilled vegetables and aged cheeses.
