Hipping is located in an exposed position on the Red Slope between Nierstein and Nackenheim at a height of 80 – 174 meters above sea level. The steep slope with a slope in the direction of the Rhine, which is quite wide at this point, in a south-easterly direction. This is a red colored heavily weathered clay slate. The micro climate is influenced by the warmth of the extended Rhine, the intense morning sun and the heavily weathered red slate.
