Tolaini LEGIT Cabernet Sauvignon IGT Toscana Rosso is a beautiful estate-bottled super-Tuscan wine from Tolaini. The winery and importer Banville are proud to offer this wine as a tribute to the timelessness of Monk's music. Pulitzer Prize winner, respected composer (his single "Round Midnight" is the most recorded Jazz single to date) AND who today is still referred to as the epitome of Jazz, Thelonious Monk has and will always set the bar for all things LEGIT!
LEGIT is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from 20-year-old vines growing at an altitude of 320-380 meters above sea level. The vines are farmed organically in soils of lime and clay with a considerable presence of gravel-size stones. Malolactic fermentation takes place in French oak barriques (70% new and 30% used one year). The wine matures for 24 months in barriques (70% new and 30% used one year) and then for 36 months in bottle.
The wine has a deep ruby red color. The nose displays hints of green pepper, licorice and graphite melted with oak vanilla flavors. Full bodied with a ripe fruit palate, LEGIT has the potential to age for a long period of time, which is typical of the Cabernet Sauvignon produced in the Castelnuovo Berardenga area of Tuscany.
"An impressive red of breadth and depth, featuring black cherry, plum, leather, earth, iron and cedar aromas and flavors. This is solidly built and well-balanced, with finely honed tannins and lively acidity providing backbone. Best from 2021 through 2040. 15,000 cases made, 2,500 cases imported." - BS, Wine Spectator, 95 points!
