Anderson Valley, California
The China Block Pinot Noir is a beautiful wine gem of Pinot Noir from the Anderson Valley of Mendocino County in northern California. "Our wines are handmade from start to finish. We work with sixteen family farms and small vineyards across the North Bay of California to produce a very limited amount of single vineyard wines. We believe in sustainable viticulture, that wines taste differently depending on where they are grown, and that great wines are made in the vineyard."

"Sourced from the biodynamically farmed Filigreen Farm on the southwest flank of Anderson Valley, our selection of Pinot Noir is surrounded by an old grove of Chinese bamboo and is therefore named "The China Block." The 2018 vintage fermented on native yeast, with 50% whole clusters, and was pressed entirely by hand in our old hand-crank press. The wine completed malolactic fermentation naturally in barrel, and aged twelve months in French oak barrels, 50% new. We performed one racking to stainless steel prior to bottling, unfined and unfiltered. Four barrels; 100 cases produced. Very perfumed with a bit of musk; notes of dried violets and lavender, with cocoa and blackberries."-Sean W McBride
