Sawbuck Cabernet Sauvignon 2010 California
Sawbuck Cabernet Sauvignon is a limited-production red wine gem from the beautiful Mendocino and Yolo counties of northern California. The Sawbuck wines are incredible values made by the new Crew Wine Company, founded in 2005 by John & Lane Giguiere, founders of R.H. Phillips. The winemaker is Dan Cederquist, formerly with Stag's Leap Wine Cellars and De Loach Vineyards. The new winery's vision is compelling: "Produce wines we love to drink at prices we don't mind paying."
Sawbuck Cabernet Sauvignon is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon blended with 16% Syrah and 9% Tempranillo. Excellent fruit maturity resulted in a wine with great color and intensity. Aromas of red raspberries and dusty chocolate are prevalent with hints of toasty oak and spice. This Cabernet Sauvignon is soft in the palate with layers of berries, cocoa, spice and silky tannins. It was aged for 14 months in both barrels and tanks. Well balanced to enjoy now and over the next 5-7 years, it offers a long, smooth finish.
Enjoy Sawbuck Cabernet Sauvignon with steak, burgers, BBQ ribs and hard cheeses.
